Abstract

From the tribal information in Salem district, Tamilnadu, the plant Sida cordifolia has been used for various disorders and the medicinal value of this plant were known from ancient times. All the parts of this plant was highly useful and among them root to be much useful. Since, our efforts were devoted to study the pharmacognostical evaluations (morphological, microscopical and powder microscopy) and phytochemical evaluations (% yield of various extract, phytochemical analysis of various extract, fluorescence analysis, physico-chemical analysis and TLC profile for the identification of alkaloids).
