Abstract

Anti-inflammatory activity of the aqueous and ethanolic extracts of Cocculus hirsutus (L) Diets was studied in male albino rats using the carrageenan induced left hind paw edema. The aqueous and ethanolic extracts (41.47%, and 44.11 % mg/kg, p.o.) produced the inhibition of carrageenan induced rat paw edema. The result indicate that the aqueous and ethanolic extracts produced significant (p<0.001) anti-inflammatory activity when compared with the standard and untreated control.
