Some 4-(1H-benzimidazol-2-yl)-N-[(1H-1,2,3-benzotriazol-1-yl) substituted phenylmethyl amines (3a-e) have been obtained by refluxing 4-{[1H-1,2,3-benzotriazol-1-yl (substituted phenyl) methyl] amino benzoic acids (2a-e) with o-phenylenediamine in anhyd pyridine under anhyd condition. 4{[1H-1,2,3-Benzotriazol-1-yl (substituted phenyl) methyl] amino benzoic acids (2a-e) on the other hand have been obtained by the reaction of benzotriazole, p-aminobenzoic acid and various aromatic aldehydes in ethanol. The structures of the synthesized compounds have been characterized by IR and H-1 NMR spectral and elemental data. The title compounds were evaluated for their antibacterial and antifungal activities and found to exhibit a variable degree of activity.
