Abstract

Ethanolic extract of dried nuts of Semecarpus anacardium (100 mg/kg) evaluated for antihyperglycemic effect in normal and streptozotocin-induced diabetic rats. Blood glucose significantly reduced in both normal (85.83 → 65.83 mg/dl) and diabetic rats (335.33 → 132.17 mg/dl) within 3 h. Effect compared with tolbutamide. © 2004 Prous Science. © 2013 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
