Abstract

Ethanol extract of Bauhinia variegata (250 mg/kg) evaluated for chemopreventive and cytotoxic effects in DEN-induced liver tumor in rats and human cancer cell lines. Reduced elevated liver enzymes, lipid peroxidation; increased antioxidant enzymes and total proteins; histopathology improved. Cytotoxic against HEp2 and HBL-100 cells. © 2006 Elsevier Ireland Ltd. © 2008 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
