Intestinal parasites studied in 1,172 school children in Puducherry, South India. Prevalence of helminthic infection was 34.56%; Ascaris lumbricoides 43.21%, Ancylostoma duodenale 28.89%, Trichuris trichiura 10.87%, Hymenolepis nana 7.66%, Taenia spp. 7.41%, Enterobius vermicularis 1.98%. Dual infections 8.40%, multiple infections 2.47%. Hookworm-positive stools cultured by Harada-Mori method; 55.56% positive.
