Abstract

The mandibular foramen (MF) location was studied in 102 dry adult mandibles. The mean distance from coronoid notch to MF was 19 mm. Superio-inferiorly, MF is 5 mm below the midpoint of condyle-inferior border distance. Failures in inferior alveolar nerve anesthesia are primarily due to operator error, not anatomical variation. © 2014 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
