This clinical study compared the diffusion of 4% articaine and 2% lignocaine from vestibular to palatal bone during maxillary tooth extraction. Articaine produced significantly superior palatal anesthesia, with 98.28% showing numbness and 91.38% requiring no re-anesthesia. Lignocaine required re-anesthesia in all cases. Articaine 4% with epinephrine was found to be significantly more effective for maxillary buccal-palatal anesthesia.
