Abstract

This study evaluated the serum C-reactive protein (CRP)/albumin ratio as a predictor of diabetic kidney disease (DKD) in 176 type 2 diabetes patients (81 with DKD, 95 without). CRP/albumin ratio was significantly higher in T2DKD patients and identified as an independent risk factor. ROC analysis showed that a ratio >0.69 mg/g predicted DKD with 79% sensitivity and 78% specificity. Findings suggest chronic inflammation contributes to DKD progression, supporting CRP/albumin ratio as a useful biomarker.
