Abstract

AI-centric tools have been integrated into educational technology, particularly for second language (L2) learners in engineering education. Chatbots, virtual tutors, and interactive simulations support personalized learning, computing performance levels and providing real-time feedback. These tools enhance language skills, critical thinking, problem-solving, engagement, and motivation. Challenges include instructor training, content accuracy, resource requirements, and privacy compliance. Successful integration improves learning outcomes and prepares L2 learners for engineering careers. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
